This cheesy ground beef and potato casserole is the ultimate comfort food. Made with tender potatoes, savory beef, a creamy sauce, and melted cheese, it’s a cozy family dinner that warms both the kitchen and the heart.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.
  2. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic until cooked through.
  3. Season beef with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour.
  5. Slowly add milk and cook until thickened.
  6. Layer potatoes, beef, sauce, and cheese in the dish.
  7. Repeat layers and finish with cheese.
  8. Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
