This baked strawberries and cream French toast is soft, creamy, and filled with juicy strawberries in every bite. Perfect for brunch, holidays, or cozy mornings with family, this comforting dish is easy to prepare ahead and bake fresh when you’re ready.

- 1 loaf brioche or challah bread, cubed
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
- 6 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish generously.
- Layer half of the bread cubes in the dish.
- Scatter half the strawberries and cream cheese over the bread.
- Add remaining bread and top with remaining strawberries.
- Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Pour custard evenly over the bread.
- Press gently and rest 30 minutes or overnight.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until golden.
Notes
Use day-old bread for best texture. This dish can be assembled the night before and baked fresh in the morning. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat gently.
