Description

This 30-Minute Ground Beef Pasta is a cozy, comforting weeknight dinner made with tender pasta, savory ground beef, and a rich tomato sauce. It comes together fast using simple pantry ingredients and always brings everyone to the table happy and satisfied.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz short pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft.
  3. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Add crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss. Add reserved pasta water if needed.
  8. Serve warm topped with grated Parmesan.

Notes

You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef. Add vegetables like spinach or zucchini for extra nutrition. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
